Why I use QuickBooks Payments?
As a small business owner expenses can add up quickly and time is extremely valuable! Anything that can help address both of those items becomes a huge benefit to the small business owner. When I was introduced to QuickBooks Payments, it was an instant game changer for my business!
A little back story, I have only offered my clients the option to pay by cash or check. Credit cards for me, mean unnecessary processing fees that can be up to 3-5% of gross sales and I have plans for the money I make in my business.
QuickBooks Online is my go-to accounting software and allows the option to email invoices to clients. Even with that, I still found that it took quite a bit of time to collect payments from customers (either by arranging to meet for payment or them mailing a check) and then actually getting the payment to the bank was often another challenge. I am sure you know how that goes!
Introduce QuickBooks Payments into the mix and the process becomes automated. With QuickBooks Payments you can apply for the option to accept ACH payments and/or credit cards. With ACH it is FREE for both parties. Did you see that? FREE!
When creating the invoice, you simply select which payment methods you would like your client to have access to and when emailed invoices go out, there’s an option within the email for the client to choose to pay the invoice online.
Once the client pays, QuickBooks does the rest of it for you! It records the receipt of the payment and the deposit into your bank account once the funds are transferred. Each step of the way you receive an email notification letting you know the status of the payment.
If your business is one that sends out invoices for products or services, this option is a win-win for both you and your client. Automating your administrative processes will allow you to get more done in the same amount of time.
