Quick Tip – Getting the most value from your CPA (or any other service provider)

Let me share a little secret on how to get the most value from your CPA (or any other service provider).

Be responsive to their requests for information!

Most likely you are busy, I get it, that is probably why you are outsourcing services to begin with. However, we can only provide you our best service if we are given the information we are requesting. I don’t expect you to be knowledgeable about the task that I am helping with (that is my job). I do expect you to care about the task getting completed.

Here is the gosh darn honest truth, when I plan out my to-do list guess which clients get bumped up to the top of the list? The ones that initially send me all the information needed for the task, followed by the ones I know when get back to me with answers to any questions I send them. Those that fall to the bottom of the list are the ones that are not quick to respond. In the end being at the top of the list, you are most likely to get the best service. And because it requires less follow up on my part, it will mostly likely cost you less in the long run.

In short, being responsive equates to more value for your dollar. And who doesn’t love that?!

Now go check your email/voicemail and send some responses to requests for information!
