Celebrate Your Wins!

Entrepreneur life comes with ups and downs, highs and lows, wins and struggles. It’s a constant roller coaster ride. As the year comes to an end, we look toward the new year and a new set of goals. But I find that it’s important to also take a moment to reflect and make a list of prior wins – identify the accomplishments from the prior year as well as the mistakes that provided an opportunity to learn and grow.

When we do this, we may even find ourselves a bit surprised at all the wins we have had. Are you aware of all the benefits that having an attitude of gratitude has on you? We can be so focused on what comes next and where we are going that we forget to say thank you for where we have been.

As I look back on the year and all that I accomplished I was able to identify a long list of wins from the year. It was a milestone year for Sheila Hansen LLC and I am extremely grateful for all my clients, followers and those that support my business. Here is a look at a few items from my list.

  1. Became 100% Self Employed. While Sheila Hansen LLC has been providing accounting and tax services for a few years, I was also supporting my family with a part time job as an employee.  January 2018 that changed and I made the leap to 100% self-employment and it paid off!
  2. Prepared 100 Tax Returns during the year.
  3. Created an online course for new business owners. This was one of those projects that I didn’t even have on my radar. I was introduced to the right people throughout the year that lead me to completing the project and stepping outside my comfort zone in a whole new way.
  4. Followed my gut and said “No” more often. I said “no”to the things that I felt were taking in a direction that was not meant for me. We can believe in a business idea or concept while at the same time know that it is not intended for us to execute.
  5. Teamed up with a group of amazing ladies that empower, support, and hold each other accountable. The Make It Happen Mastermind group has been a huge contributor to my wins this year and I am extremely grateful for this group.
  6. Created a website, started an email list, formalized business contracts, set up a meeting scheduler, created new service offerings, opened Success with Sheila (a private accountability group), and became a freelance writer.
  7. Inspired other individuals to pursue their dreams and to step outside their comfort zone.

When you sit down to write your goals for the coming month or year, I encourage you to take a moment to celebrate your wins. Be grateful for all that you have accomplished no matter how large or small and use that positivity as you more forward. Turn on some music and have a celebration dance party (you better believe that is what I am up to right now)!
